Aircraft Supplies

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

I am trying to find a new place to get some good aircraft supplies. I have always been pleased with the company that I used to use but they have recently had new management and they are not so good. They have messed up several of my orders and suddenly had a big price hike and so I have decided to look elsewhere for the aircraft engine parts that I need. I am sure that there are loads of other great places, it is just a matter of finding them among all of the places that are out there.

I do not like reading reviews as I know that those are just one persons experience and I would rather experience things for myself. This means that I will probably have to order things form several places and see how their service and prices compare. I need to do some major aircraft maintenance so I need quite a few bits and pieces so it will be a good chance to contact a selection of places and see how I think they perform for me. Price is quite important too but to me a good customer service is very important as well.

A Haven for People Who Love the Outdoors

Friday, July 25th, 2008

For people who are looking for nature-based fun, Utah is the place to be. On this state, there are numerous national parks, golf courses, ski and snowboarding resorts, camping sites and even boathouses. The most popular sites include the Temple Square in Salt Lake City, the Green River Reservoir, Cataract canyon, and the Old West hideouts. Of course, there’s also Flaming Gorge.

Before exploring the rest of Utah, make sure to get accommodations in a cozy Green River inn. From there, you could go try some Utah fly fishing. The trout waters of this state are perfect for this type of activity. There are year-round fishing trips and for the inexperienced and there are also Utah fly fishing schools which can come in 4-hour, 6-hour or 8-hour sessions. The session rate depends on how good you are at fly fishing.

One other adventurous activity is Utah rafting. Green River is the perfect spot for water rafting. There are family trips that are great for families with children and there are also group or corporate rafting trips. There are professional guides who would help each of the groups enjoy their activity while keeping them safe with their professional equipments.

The Green River section is best for enjoying the sceneries doing Utah rafting. After the relaxing rafting activity, you can go back to a nice warm bed only at a Green River inn

Toy Planes

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Shopping for pilots can seem tricky, but there are some great sites online with ideas for super pilot gifts. No pilot should be in the air without a GPS unit, and the GPSMAP 296 from Garmin is one of the best. It comes preloaded with a built-in Jeppesen database along with terrain and US obstacle databases. When the device compiles this information it you provide you with detailed views of your flight route, displayed over realistic topography. For added safety, you can put the unit in Terrain mode for TAWS-like warnings and alerts when proximity conflicts loom ahead. The 256 color, high resolution TFT display offers easy viewing even in direct sunlight. The 296 also features USB data transfer, fast processing speed and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack. The built-in logbook tracks your flying hours and automatically records departure and arrival locations.

Toy planes are another great gift for the pilots in your life. The 1/48 scale PA-18 Super Cub is a advanced version of the popular Piper Cub. The plane was frequently the choice of bush pilots, who added floats, skis, or huge donut-like tires for landing on glaciers. Your Piper Super Cub model lets you see the engine and detailed interior and contains a decorative stripe decal along with the registration number.

I have ver. 3.95 what is the newest?

On your PSP’s home menu go to: Settings > Network Update

You will then need to connect to a available wireless network. If you have the latest firmware it will tell you “no new update”

3.95 is the latest.

How long does the life of a PSP fully charged last?

Thursday, November 29th, 2007
  1. idk i dont play those things
  2. 6 hours i think maximum
  3. go over to system settings and then go to battery, it will tell you, but i think its usualy like 6 hours not sure
  4. uhhh….24??Lol.. i’m not sure…
  5. if you use it for about an hour each day for 3 days it should be dead on the 3rd day, i have one and i use it for an hour mostly, but i don’t know longer than that, but i do know that the battery sucks lol.
  6. depends on what battery u get
u can buy a battry with good stamina in best buy and circut city
it will give u 5 more hours than the regular batery
    Normal = 5
Buy new battery with good stamina = 12 - 15 hours

depends on what use u give to ur PSP
playing with a UMD disc would make the PSP run out fo battery fast since the disc reader is working
but if u just use it ti listen to music watch videos and all of that or thing that dont involve games ur battery would last longer

Is a buffalo head nickel still valuable if you cant see the year on it because it’s so worn out?

Thursday, October 25th, 2007
  1. It is probably still worth at least 5 cents.
  2. Sorry :-( I don’t think so, and to worth more than a quarter, it would have be in perfect condition.
There are a lot of them still out there, so they aren’t yet that valuable…except for a few years , I cant think of exactly which ones right now and still they are not worth that much, if in good condition around $3.50
  3. The value is based on the date being there! even if just the last 2 numbers are all thats left there, it has value above 5 cents.
  4. Yes it is don’t spend it just keep it .
  5. Not really

2. How do i replace the needle in my sewing machine?

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

If you are sitting facing the machine. On the right side of the needle you will see a tiny screw. Now unscrew it slowly and the needle will loosen up.. un-tighten just until the needle will slide out paying close attention to the direction of the “flat” side of the needle.. it is usually to the front but not always.

To sew denim you need a size 14 or 16 denim needle. If you do not have one that size when if you are sewing thru more than 2 thickness of denim then slow down the sewing speed to very slow and perhaps “help the machine” by turning the wheel on the right side of the machine … you will probably need to do this when going over seams.

I also make denim purses too so know the difficulty and I will still break needles because I get to sewing a bit too fast

To experienced quilters — what are the 10 most essential tools a beginner needs (besides sewing machine)?

Saturday, September 8th, 2007

Tools you will need:

1) Rotary Cutter
2) Olfa Mat (or any other self-healing mat) 18″ x 24″ is a good size
3) Ruler- (Omnigrid is great) a 6″ x 12″ ruler is good
4) A good pair of fabric scissors to use only for cutting fabric. I use Fiskars
5) A good iron (for pressing when you are piecing)
6) Pins. Choose long, thin, sharp (dressmaker’s) pins for piecing and appliqueing. They should also be rustproof.
7) Needles - sharps and betweens for quilting and applique
8) Quilt frame (for hand quilting)
9) Thread. Get the best you can find. For your stash, I recommend: white, tan, or medium gray cotton or cotton-covered polyester sewing thread. Polyester threads can cut cotton fibers.
Natural or off-white cotton or cotton-covered polyester quilting thread to use for hand quilting. Clear, transparent, nylon thread for machine quilting. The thread should be thin and soft, not stiff and wiry like fishing line.
10) A 1/4 foot for your sewing machine. This makes is so much easier to do 1/4 inch seems.

The Quilter’s Ultimate Visual Guide from A to Z - Hundreds of Tips and Techniques fro Successful Quiltmaking by Ellen Pahl

Also- any books by Alex Anderson. She has a show on HGTV (or used ) called Simply Quilts. She has published books on hand quilting, piecing, etc. She is considered an expert in her field and her books are filled with easy to do projects and easy to understand instructions.

I highly recommend going to quilting classes at a local quilt shop or at a place like JoAnn’s. The teachers know what they are doing and will be happy to show you how to do it the right way. I stated off on my own and ran into problems and became very discouraged. I started taking classes and my skill levels increased and I have completed many nice quilt projects since then.
